Local boxing sensation Winston Hill is the new Asia Pacific IBO Champion after defeating Australia's Jyl Wright in the 9th round by TKO at Prince Charles Park, Nadi.

Jyl Wright was feared by other fighters in NSW but bowed out after receiving a few heavy blows to the body during their fight last night.

Hill says winning this title would mean a lot for Fiji's economy because more overseas challengers will travel to the country for the title.

In other boxing results, James Singh won the heavyweight fight against Jonasa Kavika.
