Former Highlanders lock, Joe Wheeler has made a hilarious and touching music video tribute for retiring Highlanders legend Ben Smith.
He made up his own tribute song for the 33‑year‑old All Blacks star, to the tune of Neil Diamond's Sweet Caroline song.
Ben Smith could be playing his final game for the Highlanders tomorrow night, when his team takes on the defending champions Crusaders in Christchurch.
He has played over 150 games for the Otago Super Rugby franchise.
In the Super Rugby’s 24 year history, the Highlanders have never beaten the Crusaders in the Super Rugby quarterfinal.
The Crusaders will take on the Highlanders at 7.35pm tomorrow at Rugby League Park in Christchurch, the Jaguares will meet the Chiefs in Argentina at 10.05am Saturday, the Hurricanes will meet the Bulls at Wellington Regional Stadium at 7.35pm Saturday while the Brumbies take on the Sharks at 10.05pm Saturday in Canberra.
