With 76,000 supporters expected to enjoy the Vancouver Sevens this weekend, all eyes will be on how the Vodafone Fiji 7s team will make its comeback.
A lot has happened this week with Sevuloni Mocenacagi and Vatemo Ravouvou suspended by World Rugby and Joeli Lutumailagi out of the tournament with injury.
Coach Gareth Baber says the players have showed good signs this week and are ready for another weekend of battle.
Fiji is yet to win a title this season after appearing in three finals against series leaders South Africa.
Baber is expected to name his final 12 tomorrow.
Meanwhile South Africa South’s coach Neil Powell says watching the Blitzboks last year was painful as they were disappointed with their bronze at the Rio Olympics.
Powell says many asked him what he thought was wrong, and he simply said – that their style of play was lacking, their game plan was not connecting.
Individual brilliance coupled with teamwork has simply set the Blitzboks apart from the rest.
The Blitzboks head into this weekend as leaders with 107 points while Fiji is in second place with 83 points.
Fiji will take on Wales at 6.36am Sunday, their second game is against Samoa at 10.12am Sunday before meeting Argentina at 1.52pm Sunday in our last pool match.
The Medal quarterfinals will start at 6.08am next Monday, the semis start at 10.08am Monday while the final will kick off at 1.19pm Monday.
Barring any upsets, Fiji is likely to meet USA, Australia or France in the quarterfinals, we will meet either New Zealand or England in semifinals and South Africa in the final.
