Irish rugby club Munster say they are not interested in All Blacks star Ben Smith.
Munster have been reported to be in a race with French clubs for the signature of the Rugby World Cup winner, who can play wing and fullback.
Smith is believed to be commanding a wage as high as $2.4m a season for a move north.
But Munster said it's not the money that is scaring them off Smith.
It is Smith's inability to play for Ireland that sees him ruled out of their thinking, according to Munster's director of rugby Rassie Erasmus.
He says they are constantly looking for Irish‑qualified players.
Earlier in the week it had been suggested Munster were looking at getting private investors involved to try to top up an offer to Smith.
Smith's New Zealand Rugby contract runs out next year.
