Daly Cherry-Evans' final game in Manly colours began with the skipper misjudging the kick-off and the Warriors scoring the fastest try in National Rugby League history.

The game went in favour of Manly with the Sea Eagles toasting a 27-26 win decided by a Cherry-Evans field goal.

According to the official NRL website, it took eight seconds, for Warriors captain James Fisher-Harris to open the scoring at Brookvale Oval last night.

Warriors coach Andrew Webster reckons scoring a try so quickly and with such ease set his team up for failure.

Webster says they were so excited about the lead, but then thought they had not actually earned anything yet.

The Warriors' loss was soured further by an injury to centre Rocco Berry, who finished up only five minutes into the game due to a shoulder problem.

The Warriors will finish the regular season in sixth place.

They will host either the Roosters or Panthers in an elimination final at Mt Smart Stadium next week, depending on the result of today's clash between the Dragons and Panthers at Kogarah Oval.

In other results, the Roosters thrashed Rabitohs 36-6, and the Broncos defeated the Storm 30-14.

Looking at the matches today, the Dragons will take on the Panthers at 5pm, the Titans will meet the Wests Tigers at 7.30pm and the Bulldogs wil face the Sharks at 9.35pm.
