Waratahs forwards plan to use their footwork and mobility to counter bigger Super Rugby teams trying to defeat to put the bash on them.

The Waratahs have won successive games against the Sunwolves and Queensland Reds after an opening round loss to the Hurricanes.

Flanker Will Miller will miss two to four weeks with a left ankle injury he suffered after coming off the bench in Saturday's victory over the Reds.

Second‑rower Jed Holloway says teams are getting a good read on them but they will focus on their strengths for today’s game against Brumbies.

Holloway says the team has great footwork, more mobile anda  smaller pack.

He adds one area of focus this week will be countering the Brumbies deadly rolling maul.

Holloway says it all comes down to whether they want to stay in the game longer adding a Brumbies versus Waratahs game is a good reason to do that.

NSW defence coach Steve Tandy stressed the Tahs could diminish the threat by avoiding any unnecessary penalties close to their line.

The Waratahs will take on the Brumbies at 8.45 tonight while the Chiefs will face the Hurricanes at 6.35pm tonight.

Tomorrow morning the Stormers will face Jaguares at 5.10am, SunWolves will take on Reds at 4.15pm and the Highlanders take on Crusaders at 6.35pm tomorrow evening.

The Lions will face up against Rebels at 1.05am on Sunday morning.
