Wales beat Australia in the Rugby World Cup for the first time in 28 years as they secured a 29-25 win last night.

Wales lost five straight World Cup matches to the Wallabies, including a quarterfinal and two pool deciders, but finally ended the streak with a clinical performance.

Wales scored two converted tries in the first half as they led 23-8 at half time.

The Wallabies came back firing in the second half with two converted tries from Dane Haylett-Petty and Michael Hooper.

This is also the third time in history the Wallabies have lost its pool game in the Rugby World Cup

Wales next game is against Fiji at 9.45pm next Wednesday.

In other results yesterday, Georgia defeated Uruguay 33-7.

In today’s matches, Scotland will take on Samoa at 10.15pm.
