Fiji-born France player Virimi Vakatawa is set to return to international rugby 11 months after he was forced to retire from the sport due to a heart condition.

It was on September 5th of last year that Racing 92 announced that the talented centre had been banned from playing rugby in France due to a medical issue which was later confirmed to be a heart condition.

Rugbypass confirms Vakatawa is preparing to face Manu Samoa as part of a Barbarians side that will face the island nation in Brive next Friday as part of their preparation for the Rugby World Cup.

They say that they understand that he has been passed fit to play the game and will be the first player to be announced on the Barbarian’s side.
