The 2025 Vodafone Vanua Championship and Royalty Ranadi Competition will feature 16 teams each.

Acting CEO of Fiji Rugby, Koli Sewabu says the competitions reaffirm their role as vital platforms for personal growth, community development and rugby excellence.

Sewabu says last season’s final saw Vatukoula edge Malolo by one point, with both teams now promoted to the Skipper Cup.

He further says that the Championship has created many positive ripple effects in the community, encouraging young players to step away from drug use.

The Acting CEO says over 1,300 players participated in 2024, reflecting the competition’s rapid growth and professional standards.

Teams like Kadavu and Nasinu have risen through the ranks, with Nasinu Women recently defeating Suva to claim the Pure Bosco Challenge Trophy.

Sewabu highlights that Vodafone Fiji’s continued sponsorship remains key to the success of grassroots rugby, fueling both domestic growth and international achievements.

Meanwhile, Head of Vodafone Fiji Recharge and Distribution, Nilesh Singh says the championship serves as a crucial stepping stone for young athletes aiming to advance to Fiji’s top-tier Skipper Cup league.

Singh adds that beyond being just a sports competition, it embodies Fiji Rugby Union’s strategic commitment to growing the game at the community level.

General Manager of CJ Patel, Manjula Suraweera expressed pride in supporting the provincial women’s rugby competition, emphasizing the role of sport in creating opportunities, building confidence, and transforming lives.

The Royalty Ranadi Cup aims to provide a platform for young women to showcase their skills, inspire future generations, and continue Fiji’s proud rugby legacy.

The organisers, including the Fiji Rugby Union, were acknowledged for their tireless efforts in bringing the tournament to life.
