Two Fiji Weightlifters qualify for 2022 Commonwealth Games

Two of Fiji's Weightlifting athletes have qualified for the 2022 Commonwealth Games in England.

The two weightlifters are 96kg lifter Taniela Rainibogi who is currently ranked 9th in the Commonwealth and Super 87+ lifter Helen Seipua who is ranked 8th.

Weightlifting Fiji President Della Shaw-Elder says this is the second time for Taniela Rainibogi as he had previously represented the country at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

She says unfortunately, 2014 and 2018 Commonwealth Games Bronze Medalist and 3-time Commonwealth Champion, Apolonia Vaivai, missed registering a successful lift during the qualification tournament.
