Head of England 7s Simon Amor says the knockout format of the Rugby World Cup 7s makes it incredibly exciting and high‑pressured.
He says to play at an iconic baseball stadium and in a city that they haven’t played in before makes this a unique experience that they are fully embracing.
England has Phil Burgess, Alex Davis, Richard de Carpentier, Will Edwards, Mike Ellery, Harry Glover, Ollie Lindsay‑Hague, Ruaridh McConnochie, Tom Mitchell, Will Muir, Dan Norton and James Rodwell.
Amor says they have a very quick team and one that gives them lots of options in terms of the style of rugby they can play, and they are really looking forward to putting this into action in San Francisco.
England won their first and only Rugby World Cup 7s in 1993 at Murrayfield.
Looking at England’s recent performance, they settled for bronze at the Commonwealth 7s which New Zealand won after beating Fiji in the final.
England will play their first knockout game against the winner of the Samoa-Uganda game at 3.09pm this Saturday.
