Terence Crawford becomes the new undisputed welterweight champion

Terence Crawford has become the undisputed welterweight champion after producing a masterful performance to dominate his rival Errol Spence in the ninth round of their boxing match today.

Crawford made a mockery of the pre-fight 'pick-em' nature of a contest which showcased two of the finest fighters of their generation, dropping Spence in the second round and twice in the seventh before the fight was waved off as Crawford became a two-time undisputed ruler.

Crawford says it was his dream to become a world champion, but no one believed in him while coming up and now everyone's a believer.

He says the win means everything because of who he took the belts from, but they tried to blackball him, kept him out and told him he was not good enough, but he prayed to God for the chance to show the world how great Terence Crawford is and today he has showed how great he is.

Spence had reigned as a welterweight champion since he stopped Kell Brook at the home of Sheffield United in 2017 while Crawford followed suit a year later when he knocked out Jeff Horn to become a two-division ruler.
