Team Fiji Men’s clocks fastest time in 4x100m heats

Team Fiji Men's 4x100 metres relay team will be looking to bag a gold medal at the Pacific Games after clocking the fastest time in the heats.

Fiji finished first in their heat with a time of 40.97 seconds, Papua New Guinea came second with a time of 41.83 seconds and Vanuatu finished third with a time of 41.86 seconds.

The women’s team are also through to the final after finishing second in their heat.

They clocked the second fastest time in the heats of 47.54 seconds.

The women's final is at 4 this afternoon while the men’s final is at 4.20pm.

Looking at other results in athletics, Brieanna Rabakewa won bronze in the women’s discus throw, Laisani Hacere won bronze in the women’s high jump, Melania Turaga finished 6th in the women’s 400 metres event, Jonacani Koroi came 4th in the men’s 400 metres event

Team Fiji currently sits in 5th place with 14 gold, 20 silver and 29 bronze.

New Caledonia is leading with 70 gold, 44 silver and 45 bronze, while Australia is in second place with 42 gold, 20 silver and 8 bronze.
