Vodafone Fiji 7s coach Nacanieli Cawanibuka believes taking 14 players to the first leg of the 2016/2017 World Sevens Series will provide more healthy competition amongst the players.
Fourteen players left our shores yesterday and only twelve of them will be named in the Dubai 7s.
Cawanibuka says this system has been in place from the past two seasons.
Meanwhile the Vodafone Fiji 7s team will play their first game against Canada at 7.52pm next Friday and they will face Wales at 11.47pm.
They will play their final pool match against Argentina at 4.48am next Saturday.
The Cup quarters start at 8pm next Saturday, the Cup semis start at 1.41am next Sunday while the Final kicks off at 4.33am Sunday.
