Canberra Raiders have sent the Melbourne Storm packing from the 2022 NRL premiership race after beating them 28-20 last night.

The Raiders now move to week two of the finals to face the Eels on Friday night.

In another match last night, the Cowboys have progressed to their first preliminary final since 2017 with a 32-30 win over the Sharks in a golden point thriller.

Valentine Holmes was the hero for the Cowboys with a 45-metre field goal in the 93rd minute after scores had been locked 30-30 at full-time.

Meanwhile, the Roosters will face the Rabbitohs at 6.05 this evening.
