The South Africa 7s team is set to lose two of key players to Super Rugby.
Seabelo Senatla will join the Stormers and Kwagga Smith returns to the Lions after the Sydney 7s this weekend.
Senatla became the all‑time record try‑scorer for South Africa when he scored his 180th try in Wellington.
Kwagga Smith has been a key forward in terms of tackles and ball turnovers.
Coach Neil Powell says this is a key loss but it is also an opportunity to test young players in the team.
South Africa is pooled with England, Kenya and Japan in the Sydney 7s.
