All Blacks star Sonny Bill Williams will return to the boxing ring for the first time in nearly three years.
Williams currently banned after a red card in the second Test against the British & Irish Lions will enter the ring for a highly‑anticipated bout with rugby league player Paul Gallen.
Williams’ promoter has confirmed to the Sydney Morning Herald that the two camps have agreed to a fight with a decision yet to be made on where it will be staged.
Gallen is the captain of NRL side Cronulla Sharks and has 32 caps for the Australian rugby league side.
He also has an impressive record as a boxer with seven wins from seven attempts, four of which came through knockout.
Sonny Bill Williams is also undefeated in seven fights, three by way of knockout.
