Six Nations Championship can become Seven Nations Championship with Japan included

There are reports that next year's Six Nations Championship can become Seven Nations Championship if Japan is included.

Mail Online reports that Japan could receive a shock invitation after successfully hosting the 2019 Rugby World Cup.

Daily Mail sports columnist Martin Samuel claimed the idea had been floating in private after it emerged that the Rugby Championship was dithering about including the fast-emerging Japanese and were proposing a delay of four or five years before sanctioning Japan's involvement.

The Daily Mail said World Rugby is aware that key figures within the Six Nations organisation have expressed an interest in creating a tournament that stretches 6000 miles to the Far East.
