Sharks playmaker Chad Townsend says they have been working hard to make sure they have alternative kickers if he is unable to get into position to take a field goal against Melbourne Storm tonight.
Townsend's kick from about 19 metres to the right of the Panthers sticks last weekend's gave the Sharks a 21‑20 victory to keep them alive in the hunt for a second grand final in three years.
Townsend has slotted over four field goals this year – but he's the only Shark to have success.
The Storm will play the Sharks at 9.40pm tonight in the first Preliminary Final while the Rabbitohs will play the Roosters at 9.40pm tomorrow in the second NRL Preliminary Final.
