Sam Cane will start at blindside flanker as he continues his comeback from a broken neck when the Chiefs host the Reds in Hamilton on Friday.
Cane, after more than sevens months on the sidelines returned to action off the bench last weekend and played 41 minutes of the 23‑8 loss the Chiefs suffered to the Blues.
Normally an openside, Cane has been asked to switch sides among a forward pack that welcomes back Lachlan Boshier at No 7 after his back injury.
The Chiefs host the Reds at 7.35pm Friday.
