Netball Fiji has confirmed that Afa Rusivakula has been given a contract to play for the Auckland based, Northern Star team in the New Zealand Super League Series.
Netball Fiji President, Wainikiti Bogidrau says that the Northern Star has current Silver Fern squad members Kayla Cullen, Maia Wilson, Malia Paseka, Sulu Fitzpatrick and Courtney Tairi and is coached by former England and Fiji coach Julie Hoornweg.
Bogidrau adds that Rusivakula is the first Fijian player to break through at the elite level since Vilimaina Davu and that at the age of 24, Rusivakula is paving the way for other Pearls.
Bogidrau says that Rusivakula is expected to leave the country in January, and is contracted for 6 months.
She says this is a great achievement for Netball Fiji and Rusivkula, as they prepare for the 2019 Netball World Cup.
