The second match of the Courts IDC 2016 ended in a draw as defending champions Ba came from behind to hold Rewa 1-1 at the ANZ Stadium.
It was Epeli Saukuru who opened the account in the 13th minute of the second half after a lapse of concentration in the Ba defence.
Ba came back strongly in the second half and Antonio Tuivuna equalised from the spot kick in the 38th minute after a hand ball by Rewa defender Posiano Kalisito inside the penalty box.
Rewa was down to 10 players when Mitieli Namuka was given the marching orders after getting his second yellow card when he fouled Saula Waqa in the second half.
In the first match, Nadroga managed to hold Lautoka 1-1.
Lautoka made a dream start when Shameel Rao opened the account just in the 2nd minute.
The Blues applied tremendous pressure after that goal but the lack of finishing from star striker Valerio Nawatu could not increase the lead.
Lautoka with one of the best strike force of the tournament with the likes of Samuela Drudru, Jone Vono Junior and Nawatu are kept on bay by Nadroga goalkeeper Pranesh Prasad and defender Krishneel Dutt.
Nadroga equalised through Jitendra Kumar in the 24th minute after a well-timed counter attack.
Nadroga coach Waisea Tale:
“We want to win, we are here for a win, we came here for a purpose, we worked hard for the past 3 weeks. We looking forward for our next match and the new players have blended in well in the team.”
