Taniela Rakuro, who came off the replacements bench and scored the match-winning try in the dying moments of their Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific opener against Moana Pasifika in Auckland.

The 23-year-old had a memorable week, signing a short-term full-time contract with the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua on Wednesday, flying for the first time on a plane on Thursday and scoring the winning try on his debut yesterday.

According to Head Coach Mick Byrne, the short-term contracts will be five to six weeks as they are looking to develop more of their players in their rugby academy.

The Drua edged Moana Pasifika 36-34 in an entertaining encounter in Auckland.

The Fijian Drua is in 6th place on the Super Rugby Pacific points table.
