Qualifying for the OFC Women’s Champions League semi finals means everything to the team since no one expected us to do well, and it feels amazing to prove them wrong.

These were the words of overseas-based player Vanisha Kumar as they qualified for the semi-finals yesterday following their nil-all draw against AS Academy Feminine.

Kumar says they came more like an underdog team since they didn’t do well last year and the expectations were quite low from the fans.

She says they are happy with the progression in the competition this year as the girls prepared well.

The Labasa Women’s football team will face Hekari United in the first semi final of the OFC Women’s Champions League at 12pm this Wednesday.
