Pressure could bring out the best in our athletes - Raboiliku

"Pressure could bring out the best in our athletes”.

Those were the words of Antonio Raboiliku the coach of the Coca-Cola Games defending girls champion Adi Cakobau School.

The girls from Sawani went through their final leg of preparations today at the ANZ Stadium and are looking confident to retain their title.

Raboiliku says they respect other schools and they know schools like Jasper Williams High School and Saint Joseph’s Secondary School also want the title.

Raboiliku coached Jasper when they first won the girls' title in 2013.

Jasper then continued their dominance up to 2016 which was the first year he moved to coach ACS.

Raboiliku says they will have 60 athletes this year including Fiji reps and their team captains are Elenani Tinai and Makereta Naulu.

The only senior grade athlete that they have from last year is Asinate Kasowaqa who will take part in the High Jump.

Raboiliku says that had some difficulties including injuries while some were down with dengue fever. A few athletes want to win for their families who were affected by the recent flood and cyclone.

Some of the star athletes of ACS that will be running this weekend include Makereta Naulu, Serenia Ragatu, Marica Korovulavula, Elenani Tinai, Ulamila Koroisavou, Ana Kaitoga, Alesi Buisala, Tokasa Waqanisauvaki and Ateca Narisia.

ACS won 20 gold, 14 silver and 10 bronze last year while Jasper finished with 11 gold, 10 silver and 8 bronze.

The Coca-Cola Games will be held this Thursday to Saturday at the ANZ Stadium.
