Mana Whey Fiji Coral Coast 7s defending champions, Police are expecting a tough outing at this year’s tournament.
Team’s Assistant Manager, Tevita Suliano says some of their key players currently in camp include Keponi Paul, Livai Ikanikoda, last year’s Player of the tournament, Sevanaia Nadruku, speedster Rusiate Matai and veteran Manueli Lagai.
He adds that Joeli Lutumailagi may not play for them as he is currently training with the Vodafone Fiji 7s team.
Suliano says they are satisfied with the team’s fitness level having reached the final of the Amazing Coastal 7s last month where they lost to Ratu Filise.
Police was the first team to win consecutive tournaments as they defended the I-Wau final defeating Wardens 26-10 last year.
Meanwhile, the tournament organizers are finalizing the draws which will be released next Monday.
The Mana Whey Fiji Coral Coast 7s will be held from the 19th to the 21st of this month at Lawaqa Park.
