The chaos that erupted after the Ratu Sukuna Bowl Boxing Competition final at the Nasova ring yesterday was very unprofessional by the Army team.

This has been raised by the Captain of the Police Boxing team, Jone Davule.

The Police boxing team are calling for a meeting today to straighten things up for the public.

Davule says Army Head Coach comments to the media that Police cannot accept defeat is incorrect as Army had called a strike before the match and did not turn up for the weight class.

He highlights that in boxing, if a boxer does not show up for the weight class, it is called a walkover.

He also adds that Army boxers were two hours late for the bouts yesterday.

He explains that the Police team was willing to tolerate their behaviour and still fight them because of the supporters of the Sukuna Bowl.

Davule confirms that Boxing Commission of Fiji official Anil Chand stated that Police won the competition due to the late arrival by the Army team, and that the Police boxers had to face each other as a result.

We have sent questions to Anil Chand.

He replied that he cannot comment on anything as he has given his report to the Fiji Amateur Boxing Association Board.
