Penrith Panthers has handed South Sydney its fourth‑straight NRL loss, holding on for a tough 28‑26 win at home.
Sam Burgess crossed for two tries and the Rabbitohs, having to go 100 metres to win, had a chance after the siren when Cody Walker kicked over the top for Aaron Gray, but the ball stayed low and dribbled into touch.
Bryce Cartwright made a compelling case for a New South Wales State Of Origin call‑up after firing Penrith in the victory.
