New Zealand secured their second World Cup win in a row with a nervy two‑wicket win over a spirited Bangladesh in a thrilling match.

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma scored an unbeaten 122 to guide India to a straightforward six‑wicket win against South Africa in their opening Cricket World Cup match.

India have won the Cricket World Cup twice.

Bangladesh take on England at 9.30pm this Saturday while New Zealand will play Afghanistan at 12.30am this Sunday.

India will now face Australia this Sunday at 9.30pm while South Africa will take on West Indies next Monday at 9.30pm.

Australia play West Indies at 9.30 tonight.

The group stage format is a round‑robin, where all ten teams play each other once, in a single group.

This means a total of 45 matches will be played, with each team playing a total of nine matches.

The top four teams from the group will progress to the knockout stage.

New Zealand currently lead the points table, West Indies are second, Australia are in third place while England come in fourth.

The final will be played on the 14th of July.
