With the current COVID-19 pandemic affecting many Fijians financially, the Nadroga Rugby Union has taken the challenge to continue paying their players for every game they play in the Skipper Cup competition.

Nadroga Rugby Manager, Semi Cabenalotu says most of their players were employed in the tourism sector and are currently without jobs.

Cabenalotu says to earn some money, they went back to the farms and sea to provide for their family.

He adds they are also providing the players with social and spiritual support as most of these players were the sole bread-winners for their family.

Nadroga will take on Naitasiri at 3.30pm this Saturday at Lawaqa Park. In other matches on Saturday, Yasawa will face Namosi at 3pm at Nadovu Park while Tailevu will play Suva at 3pm at Ratu Cakobau Park.

In tomorrow’s match, Nadi will face Lautoka at 3.30pm at Prince Charles Park.
