A major change will take place in Fiji FA competitions where three U-19 players will be on the bench while one has to play full 90 minutes and he can only be substituted with a U-19 player.

Fiji FA’s President, Rajesh Patel says they would like to see more youth players playing top level football.

Fiji FA had initially made it mandatory for all the districts to field in two U-19 players with one to start and the other on the bench.

Patel says they have seen coaches taking advantage of the situation by sending a U-19 player for five minutes and pulling them out which does not give the player much game time.
