Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah will be fit to play some part in Egypt's World Cup campaign.

25-year-old Salah had injured his shoulder during Liverpool's Champions League final loss to Real Madrid prompting concerns he might miss the tournament.

Egypt's national team doctor has met Salah, and the country's football association says the striker's absence will not exceed three weeks.

The Egyptian FA tweeted "The Football Association reaffirms Salah in the World Cup, God willing, will not exceed the absence of three weeks."

Egypt takes on Uruguay on the 16th of next month at 12am in their first 2018 FIFA World Cup match.

Egypt is pooled with Saudi Arabia, Uruguay and Russia.
