Nehe Milner‑Skudder will make his New Zealand return against Argentina in Saturday's Rugby Championship game.

The winger's previous Test appearance came in the 2015 World Cup final, when shoulder and foot injuries have restricted his playing time.

Milner‑Skudder's inclusion is one of several changes to the side that started last month's defeat of Australia in Dunedin.

All Blacks coach Steve Hansen has swung the selection axe, recalling winger Nehe Milner‑Skudder and flanker Vaea Fifita among a glut of changes to face Argentina.

Hansen has made seven starting changes for what should be among his more straightforward assignments in the Rugby Championship.

Five in‑form players missing completely from the 35‑29 win over Australia in Dunedin are winger Rieko Ioane, centre Ryan Crotty, halfback Aaron Smith, lock Sam Whitelock and flanker Liam Squire.

Winger Ben Smith has also begun a sabbatical which sidelines him for the remainder of the year.

Onto the wings come Israel Dagg who rested from the Bledisloe Cup Tests and Milner‑Skudder, whose irrepressible attacking style was has been largely unseen for two years because of long‑term injuries.

Tongan‑born Fifita made his debut off the bench against Samoa in June and benefits partly from the absence of veteran Jerome Kaino.

Sam Cane's demotion to the bench hands a fourth Test start to openside Ardie Savea while the only other change to the starting pack is the surprise promotion of Luke Romano, who hasn't started a Test for 15 months.

Anton Lienert‑Brown is back at centre while halfback TJ Perenara makes his first start of the year after six bench appearances.

Perenara starts inside Hurricanes teammate Beauden Barrett who, along with prop Joe Moody, has started every Test this year.

Prop Wyatt Crockett, halfback Tawera Kerr‑Barlow and midfield back Ngani Laumape are all recalled to the bench.

ALL BLACKS:

Damian McKenzie, Israel Dagg, Anton Lienert‑Brown, Sonny Bill Williams, Nehe Milner‑Skudder, Beauden Barrett, TJ Perenara, Kieran Read (capt), Ardie Savea, Vaea Fifita, Brodie Retallick, Luke Romano, Nepo Laulala, Dane Coles, Joe Moody.
