Liverpool Manager Jurgen Klopp says they sent out the "right statement" by ending Manchester City's English Premier League unbeaten run in their first game since selling Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona.
Liverpool won 4-3.
Klopp says it is a historic day and maybe it is the only game City lost in the whole season because they are so strong.
In another match, Bournemouth defeated Arsenal 2-1.
