Vodafone Fiji 7s captain Osea Kolinisau is calling for fans to give new coach Gareth Baber a chance to find his feet.
The lofty expectations placed on the Fiji sevens team has seen the former Hong Kong coach come under intense pressure after failing to return a win in four rounds in charge on the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series.
Kolinisau is confident both the team and Baber, who replaced the highly regarded Ben Ryan, are growing into their new relationship.
Coach Baber admits he is under huge pressure to get Fiji back to their all‑conquering ways, starting with the defence of their Hong Kong crown this weekend.
Fiji have won 16 titles in Hong Kong making them the most successful team at So Kon Po.
Baber was pleased with their training session with the Hong Kong 7s team but is well aware there is only one way to ease the pressure.
Fiji will play their first game against Japan at 11.54pm Friday, they will take on Wales at 5.12pm Saturday before they play New Zealand in their final pool match at 9.12pm Saturday.
The quarterfinals will start at 2.58pm Sunday, the semifinals will start at 7.31pm Sunday while the final will be held at 11pm Sunday.
