Fijian born Samu Kerevi is stepping up as a longer‑term captain for the Queensland Reds.
The pride Kerevi has is immense after many thought it might be just a one‑off.
Wallabies skipper Stephen Moore and coach Nick Stiles both believe Kerevi is the man for the job in the cauldron at Suncorp Stadium.
Kerevi says that for him, leading Queensland is a massive blessing and something he does not take it lightly.
While Queensland and NSW are locked at 13 wins apiece in the professional era the successes have come in blocks.
NSW are on a six‑win run after breaking a five‑win streak by Queensland.
The Queensland Reds will meet the NSW Waratahs at 9.45 tonight, while the Chiefs will take on the Sunwolves at 7.35pm.
The Force will face the Cheetahs at 11.45pm
