Karan wins 1,500m while Banuve claims 200m gold

Yeshnil Karan has won his second medal after winning the 1,500 metres while Pacific Sprint King Banuve Tabakaucoro bagged his third gold medal after coming in first in the 200 metres final at the Pacific Mini Games in Saipan.

Former Tavua College student, Karan ran a time of 3 minutes 59.79 seconds in the 1,500 metres while Tabakaucoro recorded a time of 21.11 seconds in the 200 metres.

Earlier in the week, Karan won bronze in the 5,000 metres while Tabakaucoro collected 2 gold medals in the 100 metres and 4×100 metres relay.

In other results, Naibili Vatunisolo won gold in the F42 Women's Shot-put Ambulant, Iosefo Rakes won gold in the F41 Men’s Shot-put Ambulant, Jimi Onitoro won bronze in the F46 Men’s Shot-put Ambulant, Fane Sauvakacolo came 4th in the Women’s 100 metres hurdles, Samuela Railoa finished 8th in the Men’s 200 metres and Shawntell Lockington won silver in the Women’s High-jump.
