France and Japan could not be separated as they played out a hard‑fought 23‑all draw in an entertaining end‑of‑year Test this morning.

Japan can hold their heads high as they were competitive throughout and eventually outscored their hosts three tries to two although it was through penalty that kept France in this match.

The result finishes a nightmare run of results for les Bleus in 2017 and they are still winless since the Six Nations after losing four games to South Africa and one to New Zealand in their five previous fixtures.

Meanwhile the Fiji Airways Flying Fijians thrashed Canada 57-17 this morning, Waisake Naholo scored a try for the All Blacks as they beat Wales 33-18, Tevita Kuridrani scored two tries but was not enough to help the Wallabies as they lost to Scotland 24-53, the Springboks thrashed Italy 35‑6, England made it three wins out of three after defeating Samoa 48‑14, Georgia edged USA 21-20, Tonga beat Romania 25-20 while Ireland defeated Argentina 28-19.
