Argentina 7s coach Santiago Gomez Cora says it will certainly be strange not to see Sir Gordon Tiejtens with the All Blacks Sevens.
Argentina are pooled with Fiji, Canada and Wales in Dubai.
Cora says short‑term their aim is to select the right players, develop them and become competitive in an ever tougher series and in the long run they have the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
He says having rugby sevens in the Olympic Games has definitely been a game‑changer.
Fiji will play their first game against Canada at 7.52pm Friday and face Wales at 11.47pm.
They will play their final pool match against Argentina at 4.48am Saturday.
The Cup quarters start at 8pm Saturday, the Cup semis start at 1.41am Sunday while the Final kicks off at 4.33am Sunday.
