Ireland beats Wales while Scotland shocks England

Ireland inched a step closer to a potential Grand Slam showdown at Twickenham by beating Wales 37-27 in a thrilling battle in Dublin in their 2018 Six Nations match.

Winger Jacob Stockdale scored two tries with Bundee Aki, Dan Leavy and Cian Healy also touching down for the Irish.

Ireland will take a 100% record into their next match at home to Scotland on 10th March, seven days before the St Patrick's Day meeting with England.

It was Warren Gatland's 100th game in charge of Wales, but Ireland spoiled the occasion for their former head coach.

Meanwhile Scotland inflicted a shocking 25‑13 defeat on England on a dramatic morning at Murrayfield.

The Glasgow Warriors centre struck in the first 36 minutes to send England on their way to only their second defeat in 26 matches under Eddie Jones.

Owen Farrell pulled back a try for England early in the second half but Scotland’s defence held firm and a late Finn Russell penalty sent the enemy home.
