Kane Evans Rugby League World Cup may be over but the Vodafone Fiji Bati prop says the injury has not dented his team spirit.
The hard‑hitting prop will require surgery which has ruled him out for the tournament, but Evans says he would do everything he can off the field to help inspire his Bati teammates.
Evans says he will be cheering the team from the sidelines and if he can he will be out there singing the song with them.
Evans believes last weekend’s win over USA was only a taste of what the star‑studded Fijian side can do ahead of their clash with Wales in Townsville on Sunday night.
A handful of Fiji players took a break from football yesterday to enjoy some of the sights around Townsville including a visit to the turtle hospital at Reef Head Quarters.
A decision will be made later this week as to who will replace Evans in the team.
The Bati will play Wales at 9.30pm Sunday, Australia will play France at 9pm Friday, New Zealand will face Scotland at 4pm Saturday while England plays Lebanon at 9pm Saturday.
