Experienced Vodafone Fiji 7's Forward, Jasa Veremalua says he is encouraged by what he has seen over the past few months and believes the team is starting to gel well.

The 28-year-old adds that the young players, have been bouncing back and challenging the others for their positions.

Young players like Setareki Bituniyata, Kalione Nasoko and Mesulame Kunavula have been playing well over the series.

Veremalua says as a senior player he is trying to guide the younger ones and they are coping well.

Coach, Gareth Baber has pinpointed consistency as the main challenge in his efforts to get Fiji back to the top, while he also aims to improve their defence.

Baber says that he feels the pressure but is making sure that the players are performing to the level that he has seen from them in training time and again.

Fiji will play Hong Kong in their first pool match at 4.52pm tomorrow, their second game is against Russia at 7.50pm and their final pool match is against Canada at 12.06am Sunday.

The quarters will kick off at 4.30pm Sunday, the semis will start at 9.10pm while the Gold Medal Final will kick off at 12.20am Monday
