Frustrations for the Hurricanes in Perth as they allowed Western Force back in to the game which resulted in a 17-all draw, despite an extra time period that handed both teams chances to win.

It means the Hurricanes drop down to seventh place, facing an uphill battle over the remaining rounds to pick up some momentum and get themselves back into play-off contention.

However, the entire experience could be described as frustrating for the Hurricanes, despite a bright start for a 14-5 halftime lead.

As if the Hurricanes weren't making it difficult enough for themselves, Asafo Aumua, Isaia Walker-Leawere and Peter Umaga-Jensen were all forced from the field with failed HIAs.

In the second half the Hurricanes managed 3 points while the Force narrowed the deficit with another 12 points to end the game.

The result also means the Force continue their somewhat surprising run to relevance in 2025, as they stay in fifth spot, but they will face a tough ask on Friday with a trip to Hamilton to play the Chiefs.

The Hurricanes have a big challenge of their own in Canberra against the Brumbies.

In other matches, the Brumbies defeated Moana Pasifika 24-0, the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua defeated the Waratahs 28-14 and Chiefs thumped the Highlanders 46-10.

Meanwhile, the Chiefs take on the Western Force at 7.05pm on Friday, the Reds take on the Blues at 9.35pm on Friday, on Saturday, the Fijian Drua will take on Moana Pasifika at 4.35pm, the Highlanders face the Crusaders at 7.05pm while the Brumbies face the Hurricanes at 9.35pm.
