Wallabies scrum-half Will Genia looks set to miss Australia’s Test against England, with his French club Stade Francais refusing to release him for the final Spring Tour clash.
The Twickenham matchup falls outside the November Test window, meaning the club has no obligation to release him.
However Wallabies coach Michael Cheika says although the club has refused, they will not be giving up just yet.
If Genia is unable to play this weekend, it will open the door for Nick Phipps to return to the starting halfback spot that he held in June when the 28‑year‑old was injured.
The Wallabies play England at 3.30am this Sunday.
