Fiji Water Flying Fijian scrum-half Moses Sorovi

Fiji Water Flying Fijian scrum-half Moses Sorovi says it was such an honour and relief to finally play for his home country and rekindle his connection back home after their 42-16 win against Manu Samoa in their Round 1 Asahi Super Dry Pacific Nations Cup match.

Sorovi came in the 68th minute of the game to replace the man of the match Frank Lomani and controlled the game well and showed his experience playing in the Super Rugby, where he began his career with the Queensland Reds and joined the Melbourne Rebels briefly.

The Matanuku Kadavu scrum-half told fijivillage News he always wanted to play in front of his home crowd and to be given a chance to do so and come up with a win was such a joyous occasion for him and his family.

Sorovi's first season with Queensland began in 2017, making his debut against the Brumbies.

Sorovi played 7 games in the 2020 Super Rugby AU season, coming off the bench in the Reds' defeat in the final to the Brumbies.

After 37 appearances for the Reds, Sorovi departed Queensland at the end of the 2021 Super Rugby season to join the Rebels and was named in the Fiji squad for the matches against New Zealand.
