Just two weeks after impressive performances at the Palau Mini Games, Fijian swimmers Tolu Young and Samuel Yalimaiwai returned to the pool, this time on the world stage at the World Aquatics Championships in Singapore.

Both competed on Sunday with a wave of Fijian supporters in the crowd cheering them on with pride.

Both athletes demonstrated the resilience and determination that brought them gold at the Mini Games.

This marks a major milestone for Yalimaiwai, who is making his debut at the World Aquatics Championships while it’s the third appearance for Young.

Fiji Aquatics has sent a four-member team to represent the country at the event in Singapore.

The squad also includes Olympian Anahira McCutcheon, who is making her first appearance at the event and Marseleima Moss, who returns for her second world championship.

Fiji Aquatics has wished the athletes well, urging them to compete with confidence and embrace the moment on this international stage.

The championship will conclude on Sunday.
