Fiji suffers a 10-3 defeat to New Zealand in OFC Futsal Men’s Cup clash

Fiji fell 10-3 to New Zealand in their final match of the OFC Futsal Men’s Cup 2025 at the Vodafone Arena in Suva, despite a strong first-half showing.

New Zealand took a 3-0 lead through goals from Dylan Fatialofa, En Watanabe, and Rahan Ali.

Fiji hit back through Rajneel Singh and captain Filipe Baravilala.

New Zealand was leading 3-2 at halftime.

Neeraj Sharma equalised early in the second half, but New Zealand responded with a dominant display.

Fatialofa, Cooper Wink, and Matthew Peden regained control before late goals from Jordan Ditfort, Casey Sharplin, Ethan Martin, and a Watanabe penalty sealed the win.

Fiji won their first match, defeating Vanuatu 5–4, they then lost to the Solomon Islands 5–2 in their second match, and defeated Tuvalu 4–1 in the third.

Meanwhile, New Zealand will take on Vanuatu at 4pm today at the Vodafone Arena, while Tuvalu will face the Solomon Islands at 7pm.
