Fiji out of Oceania Qualifiers after going down to PNG 2-1

The Digicel National football side is out of the FIFA 2022 World Cup Qualifiers after going down 2-1 to Papua New Guinea in the Oceania Qualifiers group match.

Tevita Waranivalu scored Fiji’s goal in the first half.

Waranivalu was later red carded in the first half for an off the ball incident.

Ati Kepo and Tommy Semmy scored a goal each for PNG.

Fiji won their first match against New Caledonia 2-1 but was hammered 4-0 by New Zealand.

New Zealand and PNG have qualified for the semi-final.

The semis are on Sunday while the final will be played next Wednesday.
