Fiji men’s basketball thrashes Tahiti 70-45

The Fiji men's basketball team started their 2023 Pacific Games campaign on a winning note as they have thrashed Tahiti 70-45.

The Laisiasa Puamau coached side took the a 33-25 lead at halftime.

Players Mataika Koyamainavure, Tyrone McClenan, Marques Whippy, and Filimoni Waqabaca Junior stood out during the game.

The Tahitians came back firing in the third quarter and kept Fiji scoreless in the first three minutes.

Fiji faces Tonga in its second match on Monday.
