Fiji aims to win the Hong Kong title for the 17th time
Vodafone Fiji 7s coach Gareth Baber

Vodafone Fiji 7s coach Gareth Baber has welcomed the added experience that Jasa Veremalua and Isake Katonibau will bring to the team ahead of the Hong Kong 7s.

As the team aims to win the Hong Kong title for the 17th time, Veremalua and Katonibau are expected to lead the young forward pack.

Baber says Veremalua and Katonibau will also take some pressure off captain Osea Kolinisau.

Fijivillage had earlier highlighted the need to develop a leadership core in the 7s team to assist Osea Kolinisau.

Baber says he has been working on this and Katonibau and Veremalua coming into the mix will assist in this process.

Fiji will play their first game against Japan at 11.54pm Friday, they will take on Wales at 5.12pm Saturday before they play New Zealand in their final pool match at 9.12pm Saturday.

The quarterfinals will start at 2.58pm Sunday, the semifinals will start at 7.31pm Sunday while the Final will be held at 11pm Sunday.
